10 things to know–scrapping a car
- To scrap a car in Ohio you must have the vehicle title and an ID.
- See #1 (It is the law—don’t bother calling for a price without it)
- As of February 2015, the scrap metals prices are 20-25% lower than February 2014.
- We classify cars in two categories: running and non-running.
- Typically, local towing (removal) of the vehicle is included in the price.
- Due to fuel and labor costs, those in remote areas usually see reduced price offers.
- The title must not have liens against it. (ie… cash for title loans) in order to sell.
- The time needed to pick up your car is typically 2-3 hours. (or can schedule next day)
- Your vehicle should have wheels on it, making it “towable” for us to pick up.
- If quoted a “cash for cars” offer sounding too good to be true—it probably is.
